It doesn’t really make sense to be over there fighting for democracy when most of the people there don’t seem to want us there. Whats democratic about that?
I would say yes, and they aren’t against Afghanistan, its a peace keeping/peace making objective in Afghanistan. Primary mission right now is to secure current “democracy” in Afghanistan. The only way which this war will be winnable is if the NATO forces leave as soon as the job is done, the majority of the Afghan people do not trust or want NATO in their land. How would you like it if there were troops living in your homes, troops that the Taliban target. What needs to be done is diplomacy. The United Nations needs to aid Afghanistan current government into expanding their own military to handle these problems. The United States has stretched its military movement far enough, they have almost more than 100,000 troops stationed in Afghanistan now.
