Sony officially announced the $299 PS3 Slim which will be hitting the stores in September 1st in North America.

The PlayStation 3 Slim has the same features and function as the other PlayStation 3 but is 33 percent smaller, 36 percent lighter and comes with a 120GB hard drive.
